Folsom, CA:
When will the next set of new light rail cars be brought into service? How close are we to a full fleet?
Reply: Thanks for asking. Light rail cars 421 and 422 should be in service next week. 423 should be ready in the next couple weeks and 424 is in the final weeks of testing and should be in revenue service by the end of the month. We hope to have enough new low-floor light rail trains to only operate new trains on the Gold Line by the end of summer.

What is Regional Transit planning on doing with regards to Routes and service at the Sunrise Mall Transit Center. The Mall itself is a disaster these days and is not a welcome place to be anymore. The City of Citrus Heights has the property it sits on as a redevelopment area. The Mall itself has been suffering due to competition at Arden Fair and Westfield Galleria at Roseville.
Reply: As part of our Comprehensive Operational Analysis, we’re looking at potential minor short-term adjustments to service throughout our network, including the Sunrise Mall area, as well as long-term conceptual planning and prioritization, which definitely includes the Sunrise Mall area.
Big-picture things we’re looking at include connectivity east to Folsom, improved levels of service north to Roseville, potential return of general public microtransit to the Orangevale and Fair Oaks areas east of Sunrise Mall, internal circulation via neighborhood shuttle routes or microtransit within Citrus Heights, and whether Route 1 on Greenback should be added to the list of potential BRT routes.
Related to the Sunrise Mall site specifically, the City of Citrus Heights has a Sunrise Tomorrow plan that paves the way for redevelopment of the Sunrise Mall site. This would include a new bus loop, on Sunrise, south of Greenback, which would be a major improvement over our current “no frills” terminal on Arcadia.

While I do kinda like the new website, finding bus routes is really weird and took a lot of getting used to. Is it possible to have the new system but also link to the page that displays all of the routes as well?
Reply: Thanks for asking. Since the site is so new, we are continuing to work on adjustments as needed. We are taking this into consideration.

With the likelihood of there not being a chat in July due to the Independence Day holiday weekend, are there any service changes in mid-August or early September that riders like myself should prepare for that will take place then? I am fully aware and prepared for this month's suspension of the Green Line along with the additional trips coming this month on the weekdays for Route 11 as well. So yes, I am now trying to prepare for what's next, and my vehicle operators told me that after June 15th that the next one will likely occur in mid-August and/or early September in conjunction with the start of the 2025-2026 school and academic year at most area campuses. Thank you.
Reply: Hi, thank you for asking. We don't hold a GM Chat in July for the 4th of July holiday or in January for the New Year holiday. Anytime you have questions/concerns, you can always contact SacRT Customer Service at 916-321-BUSS (2877).
Folsom, CA:
What's being done to rectify the ongoing operational issues that keep occurring between Sunrise and Historic Folsom Station. It seems like there is a bus bridge happening in that track segment daily. Back on Monday, I had heard about an erratic automobile driver that smashed a red and white gate along with a new train car. I hope that the train operator is both OK and not at fault, and that Regional Transit will be able to capture the culprit automobile driver and make them pay the district for all the damage and inconvenience they cause to everyone back on Monday. Thank you.
Reply: Thank you for your patience. We are actively working to improve operations by turning a third train around at Sunrise Station. This adjustment helps reduce congestion in the Folsom area, where the track is limited to a single line and a small section that is double-tracked.
We also want to apologize for the bus bridge you experienced on Monday. It was necessary due to a vehicle failing to follow safety signals at the Blue Ravine crossing, which required a temporary suspension of light rail service for everyone's safety.
We appreciate your understanding as we work to provide safe and reliable service.
Antelope & NE sac, CA:
Hey Henri Li. Great to have you despite the fact you do not hold this chat session in July. Anyways, I’m a frequent user of flex and was wondering when 1: you may have passed accepted on the service and 2: when same day booking will become available? The latter question I will add I forgot to book an advanced registration to go home from American river college and would have to walk home otherwise so same day booking would be appreciated.
Reply: Thank you for your questions and yes will be off in July because of the holiday. At the moment, no discounts or passes are accepted on Flex as it is a demand response service. There are very limited grant funds available to operate the Flex program and demand response service like Flex is more expensive to provide than regular bus service. Passenger fares help us continue to make the service available.
Regarding same-day booking, we’re still evaluating the system and looking at when it would make sense to offer that option. There are a few operational factors we’re working through to ensure we can do it in a way that’s reliable and consistent for all riders.

I know it’s still early but will the new adjustments made give us Sunday and holiday service ? It’s been desperately needed
Reply: Thanks for your comment. That is definitely something we’re looking at. It’s important to note that the backdrop for the Comprehensive Operational Analysis is no new funding for expansion, due to the current financial challenges that SacRT and almost every other transit agency are facing. However, we are doing what we can to see if we can reallocate some lesser-used service to areas where it is more badly needed. And also, in our long-range plan, even if we don’t have the money now, we are looking at what the priorities should be, if we were to have money for expansion, for example from a new local funding measure. Light Rail to Elk Grove or even just Bus Rapid Transit is something we’re studying right now with the City. But we don’t want to overlook some of the basics, for an area that today has no Sunday bus service at all, and very little Saturday bus service. The COA will provide an opportunity to look at all those options together, from a big-picture perspective. Please visit sacrt.com/coa for more information.

What's the latest regarding Federal Transportation funding? I was made aware that Regional Transit and others recently returned with a large delegation from Washington, D.C. on the "Cap-To-Cap" trip. How was that, and any positive news you can share about the 2025 edition of that annual event?
Reply: On May 30th, 2025, the President released his Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Budget request. It requests $21.2 billion for public transit, a 1.5% increase from the FY 2025 enacted level. The request is just a bit below the Fy 2026 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) authorized levels. The Budget request provides $3.8 billion for Capital Investment Grants (CIG) in FY 2026 and proposes funding for 15 CIG projects in 11 states. Among the 15 projects, the Streetcar project is listed. There are 56 projects across the nation in the CIG program, so the inclusion of the streetcar project is notable and a positive sign for the connector project. We are targeting the execution of a Small Starts Grant Agreement next Summer.
We had a wonderful Cap to Cap trip and had one of the first meetings with the Acting Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration.

hello I'm using Tap2go to go up I use my apple watch a lot to pay fare, sometimes it say $1 then the next day it say $5 is this a glitch?
Reply: I presume that you are riding SacRT Go given the $5.00 charge you referenced. Tap2Ride reconciles transactions throughout the day with your bank to ensure that you are always charged the correct fare for your daily activity. Some banks will place a $1.00 hold on your account temporarily until the final transaction is completed. You should see the $1.00 hold transaction drop off of your statement once the full reconciled transaction appears.

So is ryde for free done? I have emailed my local representative and the mayor but they have non commitment answers
Reply: Are you asking about RydeFreeRT, SacRT's fare-free transit for youth program? SacRT has partners with school districts and local jurisdictions to fund the program. The SacRT Board of Directors will be approving the program for FY26 at our next board meeting.

How much does it cost to have an advertisement installed on the SacRT buses, light rail, bus shelters and benches? Also, who would be the point of contact for advertising on these?
Reply: You can visit sacrt.com/advertising for our contacts for advertising on vehicles and at bus stops and benches. Thanks for your interest!

What is with all the blue line delays ?? I know the gold line has issues because of the single track
Reply: We understand how frustrating delays can be, and we appreciate your patience.
Recent delays on the Blue Line have been primarily due to vandalism in the north area, which has impacted our signal system and occasionally required temporary bus bridges. In addition, some delays are caused by late Gold Line trains, especially where the two lines merge in the downtown corridor, which can affect overall timing.
Please know that our teams are actively working to address these issues and minimize disruptions.
Sacramento, CA:
Has SacRT considered raising the transit fares in order to bring more buses online? Especially with state workers being brought back into the office with a 100% state subsidy, it seems like we could significantly improve our transit system through increasing the amount collected by the State's own subsidies.
Reply: Thank you for your question. Fares are only a small percentage of SacRT's operating budget. We are looking for partnerships to increase service and have engaged the state of California as they prepare for the Return to the Office.
Elk Grove, CA:
Will SacRT be considering additional service as State employees return to the office 4 days/week?
Reply: As part of our Comprehensive Operational Analysis, we’re reviewing all our commuter bus service. We don’t expect the total level of service to change, at least not by much. But we are revisiting the times it gets there and the pick-up routes, to try to make sure it’s better fit to demand, so the buses we have out are full and well-used and there is as much service as possible to the most important destinations. Thank you!
Sacramento, CA:
How does the bus location transponder work? Is this a tracker that the driver has to turn on? I frequently use the bus tracker app, but some busses seem to be operating without a tracker displaying until halfway through their route. A bit frustrating to be waiting in the office to avoid the high temperatures just to have the bus tracking not appear until after the bus is halfway through downtown and finding out I'll have to wait for the next bus that has tracking turned on.
Reply: I apologize for any inconvenience. We’re experiencing a large number of "router failures" currently which makes buses disappear. We have identified some money to purchase new ones, and get them installed to fix this issue.
Natomas, CA:
Hello, With State Workers coming back to downtown next month at 4x a week, what is SacRT going to do about the Number 11 bus? As you know, the 11 is now consistently 20+ minutes late due to the heavily congested route, several school stops and transient loading, the 1-year detour now in effect for the railyards, and in 9 days we will have the Green Line out for a year outside the May Lee complex that is being referred over to the 11.
Reply: We are adding frequency to the route 11 starting on Monday, June 16, 2025 when Green Line service is suspended. I will share with our operations team about your concerns with the route 11 being late.

Friday on my mind .... I have some more 'F' words for you: Folsom, Fifteen, Forever! What's the Future look like for the Far East portion of Gold Line? When will you restore Full 15-minute Frequency to/from Folsom? What remains for Fulfillment? Bring it back and we'll have Fun in the cities!
Reply: Happy Friday. SacRT's Operational, Scheduling and Planning departments are continuously working to fine tune train movements and adjusting strategies to optimize service.

Please stop spraying glyphosate (aka RoundUp, Agent Orange, 245T, 24D, etc) at Light Rail stations. It is poisonous
Reply: The SacRT Facilities personnel are "Certified Pesticide Applicators" for groundskeeping, by the State of California. The certification requires them to only use products that have been evaluated and authorized by a "Certified Pest Advisor", licensed by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR). One of the products does include Glyphosate containing post-emergence weed control products.
Sacramento , CA:
What is a higher priority for SacRT in the near future: Improving service for existing customers or expanding the customer based to include more customers?
Reply: We have to do both. We need to enhance the customer experience and we need to do more to grow our customer base.
Citrus Heights 95610, CA:
Building on your answers about Citrus Heights and COA, it'd be really helpful to revisit transfers between 21 or 25 and 93 to go west in Citrus Heights. Currently these are really long, towards 20+ minutes on weekdays. What if you revive 95?
Reply: Appreciate the comments on both the connections to #93 and on the former #95. I’ll share with our Planning and consulting team.
Sacramento, CA:
Last night I was going through issue papers for Monday's board meeting. One item I came across had to do with platform modifications for low floor light rail vehicles. It mentioned that two light rail stations are priority over others and had to be ready, I believe, by end of June 2026 or before. It did not specify though which two light rail stations that are priority over the others. My question to you then is... what two light rail stations is the district prioritizing over the others and why do these two particular stations have to get done by June 2026 or before? Thank you for clarifying here. It is much appreciated.
Reply: Thank you for your question. SacRT received an Affordable Housing Sustainable Communities grant to fund the renovation of the Arden and Royal Oaks station. As part of that funding, we are required to have those stations complete by the Summer of 2026.
Sacramento, CA:
Can you elaborate on the bus 11 route's expanded frequency between 6am and 8pm? What frequency and times will the route change to?
Reply: Beginning on June 16, we will also be adding additional trips to Route 11, including two more evening trips departing from Natomas at 7:30 and 8:00 pm, and two more evening trips departing from City College at 7:18 and 7:48 pm. This will help fill in for the Green Line, which will be suspended for construction, beginning at the same time.
Antelope & NE Sac, CA:
Hi Henry. It’s me again. When will the gold line have 100% low floor trains and no longer use the legacy trains? Also, is bus route 33 affected as I hear it also serves 7th and Richard’s bled?
Reply: It is very likely that this summer the Gold Line will be operated with 100% low floor trains. We are currently burning in new vehicles that will allow us to make this change. Route 33 is not impacted by the construction happening in the Railyards.
CA:
How many violations and how much has SacRT taken in from bus stop parking violations? Also, has there been a trend noticed in the number of violations since this has taken affect?
Reply: The program only went live a few months ago. SacRT receives 25% of all the citation revenue collected. Why it is too early to tell with trends, it will be interesting to watch and hopefully reduces the number of people parking at our bus stops.
